Look!  No boxes!

We moved into our new home the day before Thanksgiving.  For a retail couple, this was insanity.  I worked Thursday, Friday and Saturday that week.  My hubby worked Friday, Saturday, Sunday.  But, miraculously, we were un-boxed and put away by Sunday evening.  All 4 of us.

How did we do it?  I learned a great term at a seminar (by Jason Forrest) called eustress.  Eustress is actually good stress.  Almost an oxymoron right?  It’s when you are at your maximum capacity and can work your absolute best.  We didn’t have time not to unpack.

Why am I sharing this story on a blog titled Sofa to 1/2 Marathon in 65 Days?
Because you may be thinking that 65 days isn’t enough.  65 days is exactly enough time.  It gives you enough time to train without enough time to slack off.

Here’s what Wikipedia says about eustress:
Eustress occurs when the gap between what one has and what one wants is slightly pushed, but not overwhelmed. The goal is not too far out of reach but is still slightly more than one can handle. This fosters challenge and motivation since the goal is in sight. “

2014 Pace Team

This will be my second year pacing for the Martian Invasion of Races in Dearborn Michigan.  If you want to finish the 1/2 in 2:20, then I am your girl.  This is a 10:45 minutes / mile pace or like having your treamill on 5.7 mph.

Not local,  that’s ok.  Find a race near you @ active.com

Training for this weekend:
Thursday – off
Friday – 2 miles (it’s ok to walk most of it)
Saturday – 1 mile
Sunday – 3 miles (If you cannot run 3 miles yet, no worries.  Jog 1 minute, briskly walk 1 minute, etc.)

Next week’s training:
Monday – off
Tuesday – 2 miles
Wednesday – 3 miles
Thursday – off
Friday – 2 miles
Saturday – 1 mile
Sunday – 4 miles ( don’t worry if you walk most of this.  Try to run as much as you can)

Are you in?
