As I lay in bed wide awake waiting for the alarm to go off I was going through my morning mind ritual of 5k or 5 miles? Where’s everything I need for my run? Ipod – kitchen, shoes-closet, hat and gloves-laundry room. Why isn’t that alarm going off? After what seemed to be an eternity I finally looked at the clock. 1:58. No wonder no alarm.
A friend of mine, Kelly, taught me a trick for falling back asleep; count from 400 backwards. My brain has long since learned to not be tricked by this so I have to pick an obscure number. Last night it was e-le-ven hun-dred ninty-eight. Somewhere before the countdown ended I fell back asleep, but when that alarm clock went off this morning I was not moving. After hitting snooze a few times I remembered one of my favorite principles . . .
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO DO WHAT OTHERS ARE UNWILLING TO DO.

To be successful do what successful people do or, as Nike says, “Just Do It”.
